Hi Folks

My children are tag teaming me at the moment.

I just got one back to school today after a week off and the other one got sent home at lunchtime!

To top it all off I seem to be coming down with it too.

Argh!

I coloured this one with Coloured pencils for a more rustic feel then 

I cut out and layered up the image for some dimension.

I had planned to do faux stitching with white gel pen but my pen had died.

That's one for the shopping list.

I used 2 papers from a Hot of the Press magazine freebie pad.

The flowers are from the same freebie with pearls added.

Creative Craft - It's only Words

Hey Guys

Been a bit quiet on here, had a big clearout and decorated my bedroom over the October week and then had vomiting kids and a busy week including a visit to SECC Craft Show.

Had less money than usual to spend but feel like I maybe got more 'cause I was being more canny. 

I got the staples - tape and card blanks then some dies and stamps but 

only a few bits of miscellaneous tat/embellishments and I normally get lots of stuff I hardly use.

Plus usually go a bit mad and get some sort of kit (beaded snowflakes, Home wall hanging etc)

and never ever make it. Resisted some strong temptation.

My New Years resolution is to make all these things.

Anyway I used a stamp from one of my purchases for my card for 

Creative Craft Challenges new theme - It's Only Words.

Make Words the focus of the card for a chance to win the prize from our sponsor

Die cut with a Nestie then inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink,

backed with an inked doillie over an embossed and inked background and a bit of ribbon from my stash and topped with a wooden heart I picked up last week.

Sorry it's late. Been cleaning up vomit since Friday and spent last night with my own head in a bucket.

Morning Peeps.

We've had a holiday weekend here in the UK and the kids aren't back at school till tomorrow.

Actually saw some sunshine as well as the usual rain.

I've had one of those fortnights where for no real reason I just haven't managed to get much crafting or even time on the laptop. I really need to get the finger out as I have loads coming up.

Creative Craft Challenges - Check it Out

It's time for a new challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges.

I have been playing about with some different techniques, which you'll probably see over the next few weeks and here is what I came up with.

I used a mask and white ink to do the checked background then splattered white paint over it.

I'll admit it was a lot of fun. 

I stamped a Ferrari from the DoCrafts set.

Coloured with Promarkers and inked around edges with Fired Brick distress ink.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

I'm not completely happy with the card, thinking I should have cut the car out.

Hindsight, a wonderful thing!

Creative Craft Challenges

It's that time again and this weeks Creative Craft Challenge is Bling it Up.

How fun is that. gems, glitter, pearls, foil you name it.

I fancied playing with my Inkylicious stamps and Ink Duster brushes and came up with this.

 

I used Distress Inks for the background and stamped the Make a Wish stamps in brown.

Cut out with Labels Eight and matted on Decorative labels Eight.

 

I added gems and cinnamon Stickles and a little spray of  Roses. I'm rather chuffed with it.

We weren't so lucky!

Anyway we all seem hale at the moment so fingers crossed it lasts.

New Job, House, Baby, Wedding, Traveling would all fit. I went  with a New Baby card. Mostly because I need one.

This card is for the daughter of a family friend. Her Mother lost her long fight with illness on the last Sunday of the year and little Jude arrived on the Wednesday. Such a bitter sweet time.
So New Beginnings seemed apt
