Creative Craft - It's only Words

Hey Guys

Been a bit quiet on here, had a big clearout and decorated my bedroom over the October week and then had vomiting kids and a busy week including a visit to SECC Craft Show.

Had less money than usual to spend but feel like I maybe got more 'cause I was being more canny.
I got the staples - tape and card blanks then some dies and stamps but
only a few bits of miscellaneous tat/embellishments and I normally get lots of stuff I hardly use.
Plus usually go a bit mad and get some sort of kit (beaded snowflakes, Home wall hanging etc)
and never ever make it. Resisted some strong temptation.
My New Years resolution is to make all these things.

Anyway I used a stamp from one of my purchases for my card for
Creative Craft Challenges new theme - It's Only Words.
Make Words the focus of the card for a chance to win the prize from our sponsor

The sweet sentiment is from a set by Lili of the Valley - Quotables - Celebrate

Die cut with a Nestie then inked with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink,
backed with an inked doillie over an embossed and inked background and a bit of ribbon from my stash and topped with a wooden heart I picked up last week.

I'd like to enter it at

Sweet Stampin'- Shabby Chic

Hi Guys

Today my little girl is 11.
I can't believe how big she is getting.
We are going for a family lunch then off to get a gecko or 2. Then we have friends round this evening.

Anyway back to business.
It's a new challenge over at Sweet Stampin' today.
Shabby Chic.
Sponsored by Bunny Zoe Crafts.
Plus our monthly sponsor The Ribbon Girl.

Now this ain't my thing but that's one of the reasons to be on a DT. It pushes me into doing things and trying techniques I wouldn't bother with normally, that's the Challenge part of it.
Adding in the fact that I was as wrung out as an old dish cloth from the evil bug we had and this one was definitely a challenge.

Coloured with Promarkers.
A bit of stickles on the icing of the cake.

Paper is My Minds Eye - Blush. Distressed and inked with Old Paper.
Layered some Pale Pink Glittered Organza Ribbon over Hessian Mesh Ribbon (The Ribbon Girl)
Inked the image and doilie then chopped up the sentiment and inked it too.
Stuck on a few flowers and pearls.
Sorted.

I'd like to enter her at

In the Pink - Pink and Pearlie
Crafty Ribbons - Anything with Ribbon
Dutch Dare- Ribbon, Distressing, Birthday
LOTV - Pretty in Pink

Hope over to see what wonders the rest of the Team have created

Disaster!

Sorry I've been a bit scarce, I promise that I have lots to show you and lots in the pipeline.

I have just had the weekend from hell, hence the title of this post.
It would take pages to tell you all about it but my Hubs and I got the train to York to collect my Dad's partners car.
Delayed train, lost tickets, broken car, stolen rolls (they have 5 cats!!),
expensive on the day tickets home on train- service suspended and a kaput Kindle.
Not sure who I offended but enough already!

Did have a lovely meal in a french resteraunt with Dad and Edith so not all a disaster.

Here is a card for you that follows the Disaster theme

Image is a LOTV stamp called Ooops!
Coloured with Promarkers

The paper is My Minds Eye - Bluebell
On Kraft card
Ribbon die is from Die-namics Blueprints set
Sentiment LOTV cut out with a Die-namics Sentiment Strips die
embellished with some cardcandy.

I'd like to enter him at

Create a Scene with Sweet Stampin'

This week over at Sweet Stampin' we want you to Make a Scene.
That gives you lots of scope.

Don't forget you could win a prize from our fab sponsors

In my wisdom I decided to try some decoupage.
You guys out there that do it all the time with such beautiful results have my awe.
All that fiddly cutting out!

I've used a Make it Crafty  image for the sea floor and dolphin.
(They have lots of different backgrounds available.)
I printed it off a couple of times and coloured it with Promarkers.
Then I cut the layers out and used silicon glue to put them together.

Seashells and starfish from DoCrafts Ahoy There set of stamps.

The Mermaid is LOTV Little Mermaid #1.
Coloured with Promarkers and background coloured with FlexMarkers.

I've used Glossy Accents on the bubbles and a Stardust pen to add interest to the background.
I cut the frame out using my paper trimmer and I'm pleased how well that worked.

The dolphin and shells over the frame finish it off nicely.

I'd like to enter her at

Make it Monday x
Alphabet Challenge - F for Fantasy
Fussy and Fancy - Anything Goes

Don't forget to go see what the rest of Team Fi have created.
You'll be blown away!

The lanterns are actually chalked and don't look so pink irl!
She's coloured with Promarkers.

Creative Craft Challenges

This week on Creative Craft Challenges we are celebrating our 3rd anniversary.
And that is the challenge - The Number 3.

The lovely sponsors are Lili of the ValleyStamping Dragon Designs  / Robyns Fetish and Crafty Embellies with £10 voucher.
Pop over to the blog and see what everyone has done with this theme.

I'm sorry for the poor quality of the photo but I have had a hellish couple of weeks and ended up taking the pic at night.
I've had both kids at A&E. One put bits of eraser in both his ears (don't ask!!!) the other needed an ambulance called for an asthma attack, she was admitted.
Plus my Mum still needed help. On top of that I'm now in York for the October School week.
Hopefully everything will be back to usual service next week.

I have used a LOTV stamp called Milly Cuddle Time coloured with Promarkers because there are 3 cuties in the image.

I used 3 patterned papers. Think they are My Minds eye and 3 card candies.
Sentiment stamp is also LOTV.

Thanks for looking

Summer is here

Not weatherwise tho!!

The cherubs stopped school today. 7 weeks of family entertainment now ensue.
Do I sound enthusiastic?

Between making teachers cards and doing my first couple of DT cards I have nothing new I can share yet. I've got to start packing for going down to Southerness tomorrow so doubt I'll get anything else done.
But don't despair I have a card I made a while ago and never got around to sharing.

Blurgh!!

Not been feeling too great the last couple of days. Children and their germs!!!

We're heading down to York tomorrow to visit with my Dad and his partner for the holiday weekend so no time to make anything other than a card for my friends boy which I can't post yet cos she's a follower.
Here is one I made earlier tho

Not my best colouring, I'm finding that when I look back at older cards in my Box I'm often horrified at the colouring so I'm replacing a few images. She's not bad enough to merit that tho.

Sugar Nellie image is Jelly Pip, sentiment is LOTV and the rest from stash.

I'm entering her for The Sugar Bowl - Free for All
and Divas by Design -Anything Goes

Thanks for looking, leave a comment

Tired and no motivation.

Been a busy weekend.

Yesterday it was Football, a SU retirement party (which I spent far too much at!!) and the Supermarket.
Today it was Housework, Emma's riding lesson, a family party for Sam to do cake with the relatives then his God-father Alex popped in, with a toy Bazooka!!!
I've just finished his card which could have been better but hey, he's 6 and won't care. I still have to wrap his pressies.

This is LOTV Rugby Boy and a DoCraft Son stamp.
It's coloured in the colours of his rugby training strip for Cartha QPR.

I also did a card this morning for Alex's daughter Rachel AKA Chach.

The stamp and sentiment are Ladybug Crafts Ink. Ideal for a teenage girl, or not so teenage!

Don't know if I'll get much done this week as we're starting to strip Sam's room tomorrow and aim to get it decorated, floored and a new window in this week.
Plus a Birthday party tomorrow and work on Tuesday.:-(
